The Nature Walk is a perfect spot to relax and
enjoy the natural beauty of Santa Rosa Sound and
features playground equipment, picnic and recreation
area.
Donated
to the community years ago by Col. Guy H. Wyman, an Army engineer
and the founder of Navarre, the area long known simply as
"Navarre Park" has taken on a new name and new identity. Visitors
who enjoy physical fitness and great scenery will enjoy the
Nature Walk in Navarre Park. The Nature Walk is a one-mile
trail that parallels the beautiful shoreline.
It
features a spring-fed pond stocked with fish and fowl located
along the trail. The seasonal, award winning Panhandle Butterfly
House is found in the same area, and features native butterflies
and plant life.
If
you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful water, sunsets and
sunrises there are plenty of benches along the walk.
Come and explore the beautiful
Nature Walk, and while you're there, stop in and
see the butterflies in all their glory at the
Panhandle Butterfly House.
There's
something timeless about watching a butterfly in flight. It
takes you back to your childhood if you're an adult and captivates
you if you're a child. The effortless, graceful flight of
literally hundreds of these creatures can be seen right here
on the Emerald Coast, at the Panhandle Butterfly House. It
is one of the handful of butterfly houses in the entire country
dedicated to native species, so what you see here you might
very well see in your back yard when you go home.
