Relaxing on the beach and a cold, delightful beverage of your choosing quite literally go hand-in-hand. You’ve made it through a rough work week, traveled miles upon miles from home to your long-anticipated Navarre Beach vacation, and now it’s time to unwind. While, “good times and tan lines,” is definitely one of the mottos of this lazy beach town, there are still rules and regulations that need to be followed when it comes to drinking on Navarre Beach.
Navarre Beach Drinking Rules and Regulations
Before you bust out the bubbly on the beach, there are two rules to be aware of. The first is that absolutely no glass of any kind is allowed on the beach. So, even if the beach you choose allows alcohol, it still must be in a plastic or non-glass container.
With that being said, the second important factor to keep in mind is location, location, location! Just because alcohol can now be purchased 7 days a week in Navarre, doesn’t mean it can be consumed anywhere at any time. Places like the Gulf Islands National Seashore, for example, do not allow alcohol of any kind on the beach.

Other Rules for Drinking on the Beach
While alcohol is permitted in most areas, there are still some common courtesies and unspoken rules to keep in mind when drinking on the beach in Navarre:
- Keep your music at a respectable volume. Just because Cardi B is topping the charts, doesn’t mean everyone around you is going to “like it like that.”
- Keep language kid-friendly. The only “S” word that needs to be shouted is, “SHARK!”
- Clean up after yourself. Not only is this a good idea to make sure nothing is left behind, but it is good for the environment, as well.
- Respect your neighbors, and this doesn’t just mean the family sitting next to you. Fill in the holes that were dug to install your umbrella and pick up any other soda cans or trash you see along the way, it could save a turtle’s life!
